Welcome to the entryway! When we bought the house it was kind of confusing which was the front door and which was the back! The house had no fence, both doors had porches and both led to the entryway. We removed the "back door" but kept the transom window to provide some natural light. We removed the paneling on the walls and had wallpaper put up. The wallpaper is my favorite thing about this room! I love the colors and the small amount of gold in it gives it a little pop. We painted everything and refinished the floors. We put up a new entryway light.

I love the character of the newel post, so of course we kept it, just painted it as well as refinished the stairs. And Charlie made the wooden gate at the bottom of the stairs.

The door under the stairs led to an unfinished closet that we made into a half bathroom - more to come on that.

Old unused posts from the front porch placed in the bucket for decoration.
Old church pew that we found at Canton Trade Days.
Baskets under the pew make a great hiding place for toys and easy access for the kids to grab when they are playing.
We found the vintage hall tree from an antique store and it has been perfect for this spot.
